Counseling for Friends & Family of Substance Abusers
I provide counseling and therapy services for friends, family, and spouses who are impacted by their loved one’s drug and alcohol use. Even when we are managing career, home, children, and friendships, having a loved one who struggles with drugs or alcohol in a way that makes us feel unsafe can have an impact on our self-worth, energy levels, ability to focus, and ability to hold compassion for and communicate effectively with our loved ones.
I use skills-based techniques and education to assist parents and spouses of people who use substances harmfully to develop increased compassion, energy, and ability to set and follow through with healthy boundaries. I also assist loved ones and spouses of people who struggle with addiction to communicate more effectively to assert their needs in their relationships.
Signs you may be impacted by your loved one’s drug and alcohol use:

- Difficulty focusing
